Sofia Goes to Pre-school
Hi Everyone,
Yesterday was Sofia's second day in school. As expected when there are first time schoolers, tears are bound to flow.
So, I cried... big time. :D I guess Mommy is just too attached to her daughter. You see, for her first day of school, I was on vacation leave to accompany her to school. Parents were allowed to stay with the kids inside the classroom. I attended to her needs in the classroom, and told her to participate in class. Everything went smoothly. Yesterday, I had to go back to work. After I brought her in her classroom, she was asking me to sit beside her again. I told her I can't because I have to go to the office today. One thing I learned from my boss is that I should not sneak away from my daughter. I have to let her know if I am going away, so she will not be worried every time that I might be sneaking away from her. So when I was telling her I need to go to the office, I felt guilty because I can see in her eyes that she's worried, but she did not cry. So when I was walking away, and glanced at their classroom window, I saw her looking at me. I walked with my eyes blurred from tears. It felt like I betrayed her. When I got into the FX, I cried. My husband was dumbfounded with my crying. Maybe mothers had stronger separation anxiety than fathers. When I was at work, I couldn't focus. I was worrying about her. We picked her from school at 11:00am. I could tell that she had fun in school. She kept saying, "Pasok school. Pasok school." I was so relieved. :)
Let me share with you some photos of her first day in school. I was allowed to stay inside her classroom, so I was able to take some pictures.
She was able to get 3 stars on her first day, so we treated her at her favorite Jollibee.
I was unsure yet on what to pack her for snacks. She eats breakfast every morning. Good thing it was easy to feed her even if she has just woken up. I decided on light snacks. So I got her a donut, stick-o's, cheesebreads, cheese cupcake, yogurt drink, and water. I got these cartoon dividers from Daiso to add fun to her snack box.
What I like with her going to school are waking her up in the morning, her leaving with us in the morning to go to school, and her wanting to carry her school bag without our help. It feels that she's all grown-up.
Let me share with you some of our loots when we were just preparing for her schooling. For me, this is one of the best parts of sending a child to school - shopping for her school supplies. :D I felt justified because of the items on sale. I was able to get her quality items at affordable prices.
This Barbie bag's original price was around Php2,700, but we were able to get it for Php1,450. It came with a lunch box and water bottle. We got this from SM Department Store.
This snack container was not on sale, but it was only Php180. Also from SM Department Store.
This pair of Folie black shoes was from Metro Department Store. I think the original price was around Php700, but we were able to get it for Php450 if I am not mistaken.
When we were looking for a pair of rubber shoes, Sofia saw this and bugged us to have her try it on. She never removed the shoes. Good thing this was also on sale! from Php1,750, it was on sale at Php550! We got this from Payless.
This is the pair of rubber shoes we got for her also from SM Department Store. This was originally priced at Php899, but was on sale for Php700.
We also got her a pencil case that was only at Php50, and hair accessories around Php70.
I am excited and scared at the same time. It's a good thing Sofia loved school. It made everything easy for us.
