Mi-di-ya Nu-chi

Hi Everyone,

Mi-di-ya Nu-chi is Media Noche in Chinese. Get it? Haha. Just kidding.

Kung Hei Fat Choi!

We celebrated Chinese New Year not because Familia Bareza is Chinese nor because my husband looks Chinese. We just grabbed the opportunity to celebrate, and eat away from the usual Eat-Like-A-Goat Nights. Yes, we've been trying to lose weight, People! If we're successful, maybe I'll blog about it sometime. We just wanted to celebrate and have fun.

We wore red to ward off evil spirits. Red is the color or symbol of good luck in Chinese. It is also associated with happiness, wealth and good fortune.

For the meal that we shared, we had whole chicken and fish for unity and prosperity. We also served spring rolls for prosperity, pancit for longevity, rice for harmony, rice cake for unity, and oranges for wealth. We also had pork liempo. I am not sure if this dish signified anything Chinese, I just wanted a pork liempo!

Cheers to a Prosperous New Year! May we have good health, fortune, and peace.

Live, Love, Laugh with Family!
