March 2015 Family Bonding - Antipolo, Rizal

Image
Hi Everyone, "... tayo na sa Antipolo, at duo'y maligo tayo, sa batis na kung tawagin... ay Hinulugang Taktak." We had an early family bonding activity this March. Since March is my birthday month, I was able to sway Daddy to visit Pinto Art Museum. I've been wanting to visit this gallery since January, but Antipolo seemed far just to visit a gallery.  It was our first time to visit Antipolo as a family. I've been here when I was a kid, but I have a very faint memory of that trip. Our itinerary included visit to the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, eat at My Pot Restaurant, visit Pinto Art Museum, and Hinulugang Taktak. It took us 2 hours to reach our first destination because of heavy traffic in Cavite and EDSA.  When we got to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, a Holy Mass was being celebrated. We were lucky because it was their Archbishop who was officiating it. When I stood inside the church, I felt warmth coming from my...

February Family Bonding - A Series of Celebrations

Image
Hi Everyone, I have been remiss with my blogging duties. I have a lot to share with you in the next days. :) February was a blur. Time flew so fast! We had a series of family celebrations and bondings for this month. There's Sofia's birthday, Valentine's Day, Chinese New Year, and visit with old friends. We had celebrated Sofia's 3rd birthday at Blue Bay Walk last February 13, 2015. She had a blast because her cousins were there to play with her. :) I also was in for a surprise because Daddy gave me a bouquet of flowers for the first time of our being together. Yes, that's true, but it did not bother me since I am not a flower-kind of person :D  My siblings-in-law and I were listening to the band playing when I noticed that he was gone for quite some time. When I was about to look for him, I saw him walking towards me with the bouquet in his hands. My heart skipped a beat.  Nakakakilig pa rin pala ang ganu'ng moment.  I really appreciated my husban...

Bareza Babble

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to share with you some funny conversations in our family. Today's post was brought to you by Sofia. :) ***** Mama Dolly taught Sofia to answer questions about what her name is followed by what her age is. Questions were always asked in succession, and since my daughter is a fast learner, this was her answer. Mommy: Baby, what is your name? Sofia: My name is Sofia Isabelle Bareza! Two! Haha! ***** After watching the recent Miss Universe Pageant... Mommy: Baby, what is your name? Sofia: My name is Sofia Isabelle Bareza Philippines! Hahaha! ***** Daddy had to work the whole weekend, and Sofia kept asking where her Daddy was... Sofia: Mommy, Daddy? Mommy: Pasok office. Sofia: Wawa Daddy. May point ka, Anak. .. haha. ***** Live, Love, Laugh with Family!

Mi-di-ya Nu-chi

Image
Hi Everyone, Mi-di-ya Nu-chi is Media Noche in Chinese. Get it? Haha. Just kidding. Kung Hei Fat Choi! We celebrated Chinese New Year not because Familia Bareza is Chinese nor because my husband looks Chinese. We just grabbed the opportunity to celebrate, and eat away from the usual Eat-Like-A-Goat Nights. Yes, we've been trying to lose weight, People! If we're successful, maybe I'll blog about it sometime. We just wanted to celebrate and have fun. We wore red to ward off evil spirits. Red is the color or symbol of good luck in Chinese. It is also associated with happiness, wealth and good fortune. For the meal that we shared, we had whole chicken and fish for unity and prosperity. We also served spring rolls for prosperity, pancit for longevity, rice for harmony, rice cake for unity, and oranges for wealth. We also had pork liempo. I am not sure if this dish signified anything Chinese, I just wanted a pork liempo!  Cheers to a Prosperous New Yea...

Sofia Turns 3, Celebrating Life and Love!

Image
Hi Everyone, "You are God's love wrapped in curls, laughter, and cuteness. I will forever be thankful He gifted you to me." -Mommy I searched for a quote that I can use for this blog post, but was not able to find any that will express what I feel and think about my daughter. I decided to make my own. Sofia turned three years old yesterday, and when I look at her, I am still in awe. Daddy and I brought her in this world with God's grace. She is a miracle, our little miracle.  Sofia, if ever you come across this post someday, I want you to know that Mommy and Daddy loves you. You bring us happiness each day. You are our teacher. You teach us how to be parents. And if you are reading this, I hope we have succeeded as parents.  Happy birthday! I love you very much, baby. As most parents wish, please, do not grow up so fast. :) We celebrated Sofia's birthday at her favorite 'restaurant' -- Jollibee! We went to their Blue Ba...

Experiencing Mount Batulao

Image
Hi Everyone, "The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.: - Eleanor Roosevelt It never crossed my mind that I will have a picture taken on top of a mountain. How utterly cool was it?! Daddy asked me if I want to join Alex, Anna and him in climbing Mount Batulao. I am thinking, why not? I need a long walk to lose some pounds. I said yes. I did not know we were in for a surprise. We started our hike for the foot of Mount Batulao at 7:30AM. Note that the time stamp on the pictures are off from the actual time because of the camera setting. It started out to be a steady walk. There were houses along the way, and guides, who would offer their services to hikers for Php500. Since we were with Alex, who had been to Batulao numerous times, we did not need a guide anymore. It seemed a bit boring at first, but as soon as we reached the foot of the mountain at 7:5...
